We're (or at least a bunch of us) are still here, but you probably wouldn't quite recognize the place. Stop by if you get in the area.

Al

Comment on MACDILL AFB, TAMPA FLORIDA MAY 7 TO MAY 22, 2009

Hello. Not sure if you remember us we camped next to you when we first bought our 21MB Kingsport. We had a great dane. Now we have two danes. We are both still avid campers and have graduated to a 25.5 ft Kingsport with slideout, and just recently converted to a 36 ft 5th wheel with 4 slides and we really are enjoying it. We have to put our camping on hold for awhile due to my upcoming deployment. The wife will not be going on this deployment. We just left MacDill AFB after a couple of weeks there it looks like we just missed you by 2 months. We had a great time there we ate at Donatello's off Dale Mabry HWY. Also we experienced Sweet Tomatoes. We took in a musical downtown called Respect although I was one of very few guys there it was enjoyable. We will probably see you out on the dusty trail somewhere in the future. We are now pulling with a 6.6 Duramax engine like yours. It goes through the mountains with no problem. We went to Ashville to see Biltmore Estates and Ghost Town at Pigeon Forge. We also visited St Augustine for a week. This will be more fun when we are retired but for now we will go whenever we can.

Randy and Nicole

Comment on Orlando Florida May 22 to June 5, 2009

Our sincerest Thanks to Tim & Peg once again
To recap; We were two appalachain trail weekend hikers who decided to cut their hike short by one day.
We had tried to call my wife to come pick us up several times with mixed results.(we later found out that she and my daughter had gone out for the entire day)
We found ourselves in quite a predicament as dusk started to approach.
At about this time along came the hero's of our story Tim,Peg, and their grandson. After taking a few pictures of Buttermilk falls, where we happened to be at the moment, I approached Tim to see if I could use his cell phone to try and call home once again.Of his two phones, one said no service, and the other had only one bar. We tried but got no connection.Tim then asked if he could give us a lift to a better location or at least back to civilization. My son and I couldn't believe how lucky we were that the last of a dying breed, (a good samaritan)had stumbled upon us while out for a pleasent ride with his lovely wife and grandson. After driving us out to the main road 7 miles away.
He asked how far away we lived.I told Tim that although we lived about 20 miles away our car was parked only 13 miles from where we were now.Tim and Peg agreed to drive us the additional way to our car.So off we went through Stokes State Forest and High Point State Park.As we arrived at our vehicle and unloaded out packs into our car Tim was hesitant to accept any renumeration. He insisted that we just do a good deed for someone else, to pay it forward as it were.I told him I must insist on at least some gas and diner money due to the late hour.Even after going out of their way to help us out they stayed a few minutes to make sure we got loaded up and that our car started.
Once again our heartfelt thanks to
two great samaritan, Tim & Peg
sincerly,
Jim & James Western

Comment on Greetings from New Mexico

HI!
